This branch of the Austrian Hesch family is descended from Johann Hesch and his wife Marya (Schlinz) Hesch, who came to America from Oberschlagles, Bohemia with three sons: Paul, Mathias, and Anton. +++Johann & Marya settled in Buffalo County, Wisconsin but moved to Pierz, Mn in about 1885. .+++Mathias settled in Waumandee, Wisconsin and moved to Pierz in 1911. +++Anton never married but farmed with his dad in Agram Township, where he died in 1911.+++And Paul, my great grandfather, settled five miles away, in Buckman, Minnesota. He died there in 1900.

"Who ELSE lived in Oberschlagles", you ask...?

Oberschlagles 1826-1855
These are only the families who had children born in those years. K=Kniha (book) and S=Snimek (image). (I made the list when the Ceskearchivy site was still only in Czech).
Oh, and the list isn't EVERY birth, just those I could decipher.

#1 BRZEK (1826)
#1 ALTRICHTER (1845)
#1 HESCH K8 S174
#2 HESCH K8 S131
K8 S134
K8 S164
K9 S38
#2 FIBINGER (1855)
#2 PROISEL (Sept 1855)
#2 RISAK (1845)
#3 PROIFSL/CROIHSL (Obermuhl, Dec 1855)
#4 WAGNER (1827)
#18 HESCH--K9 S67
#23 HESCH--K9 S117
K9 S154
#30 MULLER (Niedermuhl)

Oh, and here's the tally of HESCH births we found in the villages of the parishes Horni Pena and Jindrichuv Hradec :

K8 S131-- BARTHOLOMEUS 14 Aug 1843 J/Martin +
K8 S134 FRANZ 28 Oct 1843 J/Franz +
K8 S164--PAUL--20 Jan 1846 J/Martin
K8 S174--IGNATZ--27 July 1846 J/Franz

K9 S117--MARIA--6 Dec 1852--J/Franz +
K9 S154--FRANCISKA--7 Oct 1854--J/Franz

The "J/Martin" means "Johann, son of Martin" and the + means the child died early.
