This branch of the Austrian Hesch family is descended from Johann Hesch and his wife Marya (Schlinz) Hesch, who came to America from Oberschlagles, Bohemia with three sons: Paul, Mathias, and Anton. +++Johann & Marya settled in Buffalo County, Wisconsin but moved to Pierz, Mn in about 1885. .+++Mathias settled in Waumandee, Wisconsin and moved to Pierz in 1911. +++Anton never married but farmed with his dad in Agram Township, where he died in 1911.+++And Paul, my great grandfather, settled five miles away, in Buckman, Minnesota. He died there in 1900.

Circa 1918

At the reunion, Sue was scanning pictures from albums people brought along. This pic was in Aunt Eileens collection, but there were also pictures of her own Muyres family in her album. Whose family was it?

Certainly, the man on the left looks like grandpa Anton Hesch (hat, overalls and stance...lol), but it could have been almost ANY farmer, too. I talked with Aunt Eileen last night, and she said it was "Matt's picture" and not from her family, so we looked closer!

OMG...remember Marion's story about Ted as a young child, sucking his thumb and twisting hair around his finger?
LOL...this was a picture of the very same kids as the next pic! WOW--isn't that COOL?

(Sorry, I circled dad for another project and couldn't find the original just now....lol).
And now, we need to thank Sue's intuition!
