This branch of the Austrian Hesch family is descended from Johann Hesch and his wife Marya (Schlinz) Hesch, who came to America from Oberschlagles, Bohemia with three sons: Paul, Mathias, and Anton. +++Johann & Marya settled in Buffalo County, Wisconsin but moved to Pierz, Mn in about 1885. .+++Mathias settled in Waumandee, Wisconsin and moved to Pierz in 1911. +++Anton never married but farmed with his dad in Agram Township, where he died in 1911.+++And Paul, my great grandfather, settled five miles away, in Buckman, Minnesota. He died there in 1900.

Buckman Connections--the Hurrle Family

In the two-volumn book called A History of Stearns County, Minnesota, published in 1915 by Willian Bell Mitchell, there are families we'd recognize from Buckman.  One that caught my eye was this Frank Hurrle photo and bio, from Vol. I...

Later, in Vol II, there's another bio without a photo.  Now, the two girls who were in convents are nuns, and there's more description ☺.  I don't know of a connection, but I remember dad mentioning the name, and if they owned Percherons, he would have been interested!
