This branch of the Austrian Hesch family is descended from Johann Hesch and his wife Marya (Schlinz) Hesch, who came to America from Oberschlagles, Bohemia with three sons: Paul, Mathias, and Anton. +++Johann & Marya settled in Buffalo County, Wisconsin but moved to Pierz, Mn in about 1885. .+++Mathias settled in Waumandee, Wisconsin and moved to Pierz in 1911. +++Anton never married but farmed with his dad in Agram Township, where he died in 1911.+++And Paul, my great grandfather, settled five miles away, in Buckman, Minnesota. He died there in 1900.

The farm schedule 1860

Background: Peter & Angelique SAND, from Luxemburg, had a son they named Michael.  Michael married Louisa Rausch, and their daughter Elizabeth became my grandmother Hesch ☺  Lucky her!

In 1858 or so,  Peter & Angelique Sand's young family arrived in Iowa.  (We know this cuz their fifth child, Anna, was born there).  Here, in the 1860 census, you can see what he owned--COOL, huh?

In the first clip, Peter is the last line (#7) but in that second part, Peter is the second last line...
