This branch of the Austrian Hesch family is descended from Johann Hesch and his wife Marya (Schlinz) Hesch, who came to America from Oberschlagles, Bohemia with three sons: Paul, Mathias, and Anton. +++Johann & Marya settled in Buffalo County, Wisconsin but moved to Pierz, Mn in about 1885. .+++Mathias settled in Waumandee, Wisconsin and moved to Pierz in 1911. +++Anton never married but farmed with his dad in Agram Township, where he died in 1911.+++And Paul, my great grandfather, settled five miles away, in Buckman, Minnesota. He died there in 1900.

Cecilia Otremba Hesch 1895-1971

The HESCH folder at the Weyerhauser has grown considerably since I was there last--YAY!  Someone's been adding articles and family group sheets, so it's a much better picture of the family now.

By the way, just so you know, anyone can add items to a family folder at any historical society library around the nation.  I suggest not adding original documents or photos, but certainly copies of your originals.  However, if you're trying to find a permanent home for original documents, ask about donating them to the historical society itself for their permanent collection.
A new page I'd never seen before was this one:

Cecilia was the daughter of Joseph Otremba and Hedwig Holeva.  Her husband John (Huntz) Hesch was the son of Mathias Hesch from Bohemia (see the header, above).  Mathias' brother Paul (above) married Mary Otremba, who was Joseph's sister...so John and Cecilia were first cousins.  It's possible they didn't know it, but............?
