This branch of the Austrian Hesch family is descended from Johann Hesch and his wife Marya (Schlinz) Hesch, who came to America from Oberschlagles, Bohemia with three sons: Paul, Mathias, and Anton. +++Johann & Marya settled in Buffalo County, Wisconsin but moved to Pierz, Mn in about 1885. .+++Mathias settled in Waumandee, Wisconsin and moved to Pierz in 1911. +++Anton never married but farmed with his dad in Agram Township, where he died in 1911.+++And Paul, my great grandfather, settled five miles away, in Buckman, Minnesota. He died there in 1900.

If you'd like to search for something historic online without bothering the Master Researcher® or me, you can try the stunning HATHI TRUST website.


 "HathiTrust is a partnership of major research institutions and libraries working to ensure that the cultural record is preserved and accessible long into the future".


They have more than 50 collections represented, and you can search from that page (upper right) or click HOME (upper left) to go to a more specific search page.  The search results aren't as easy to use as those on Google Books OR Internet Archive.  Still, its a valuable resource...which Larry found.
