This branch of the Austrian Hesch family is descended from Johann Hesch and his wife Marya (Schlinz) Hesch, who came to America from Oberschlagles, Bohemia with three sons: Paul, Mathias, and Anton. +++Johann & Marya settled in Buffalo County, Wisconsin but moved to Pierz, Mn in about 1885. .+++Mathias settled in Waumandee, Wisconsin and moved to Pierz in 1911. +++Anton never married but farmed with his dad in Agram Township, where he died in 1911.+++And Paul, my great grandfather, settled five miles away, in Buckman, Minnesota. He died there in 1900.

Go visit Uncle Eddie !

Here's a note Judy sent last week--Uncle Eddie's getting better after the stroke, but probably the house on the river is too much right now.  Besides, there are a lot more people to visit and play cards with around an apartment building ☺.

You know he'll be tickled to see you!

  2. COOL--Uncle Eddie was my godfather too ☺ Oh, was there an Otremba who married a Janish from North Prairie? I don't know the connection other than I found a long-ago visit mentioned in the Pierz Journal and thought it was neat. I'm tickled you found the blog. There's a little search box above the title on the left--type in Eddie or Rosie and other pics will show up, unless you've already done that. Thanks for commenting!
