This branch of the Austrian Hesch family is descended from Johann Hesch and his wife Marya (Schlinz) Hesch, who came to America from Oberschlagles, Bohemia with three sons: Paul, Mathias, and Anton. +++Johann & Marya settled in Buffalo County, Wisconsin but moved to Pierz, Mn in about 1885. .+++Mathias settled in Waumandee, Wisconsin and moved to Pierz in 1911. +++Anton never married but farmed with his dad in Agram Township, where he died in 1911.+++And Paul, my great grandfather, settled five miles away, in Buckman, Minnesota. He died there in 1900.

Nick C. Meyer 1900-1969

Here's an obit from October, 1969, for Nick C. Meyer.  The Meyer family (lucky them) are related by marriage to dad's family ( Heschs, Rauschs, and Otrembas) AND thru mom's family, the Jansons.

This particular obit gives us lots of genealogical  information--but doesn't include who his parents were.  Still, we have his nine siblings listed: Brothers Peter, Christ, Gust, and Joseph and sisters Mrs. Lena Diederich, Mrs. Mike Meyer, Mrs. Leonard Janson, Mrs. Alfred Janson and Mrs. Marguerite Faust.

The question this brings up, tho, is that censuses between 1890 and 1930 show NINE different "Nick Meyers" in central Minnesota, born from 1861 to 1909...lol

HOW to sort them out?  I figure someone will google "MEYER, PIERZ" one of these days and let me know who was who...lol

(Thanks in advance ☺).
