This branch of the Austrian Hesch family is descended from Johann Hesch and his wife Marya (Schlinz) Hesch, who came to America from Oberschlagles, Bohemia with three sons: Paul, Mathias, and Anton. +++Johann & Marya settled in Buffalo County, Wisconsin but moved to Pierz, Mn in about 1885. .+++Mathias settled in Waumandee, Wisconsin and moved to Pierz in 1911. +++Anton never married but farmed with his dad in Agram Township, where he died in 1911.+++And Paul, my great grandfather, settled five miles away, in Buckman, Minnesota. He died there in 1900.

BTW, the pic was taken in 1936.  You can see the side of it in Pic #1, so yes, both buildings existed when we were kids ☺.

    1. Four blocks west, where the Federal building is now.
    2. St Cloud City Hall and Police Station.
    3. Driveway of the Tschumperlin-Williams Funeral Home.
    4. Rails were laid on St Germain and the whole building was slowly rolled to where we knew it, in the photo.

    6. The walls were 2 feet thick, made of local granite, mostly.
    7. Little girls waiting for Daddy in the car parked there, playing with the crank windows...I stuck my head out and SOMEBODY rolled the window a little too snug for comfort. A nice stranger helped us, and admonished us sternly NOT to do that again....we didn't.
