This branch of the Austrian Hesch family is descended from Johann Hesch and his wife Marya (Schlinz) Hesch, who came to America from Oberschlagles, Bohemia with three sons: Paul, Mathias, and Anton. +++Johann & Marya settled in Buffalo County, Wisconsin but moved to Pierz, Mn in about 1885. .+++Mathias settled in Waumandee, Wisconsin and moved to Pierz in 1911. +++Anton never married but farmed with his dad in Agram Township, where he died in 1911.+++And Paul, my great grandfather, settled five miles away, in Buckman, Minnesota. He died there in 1900.

Magdalena Sand & Henry Block

I posted this first pic before, partly cuz I knew and remember grandma's sister Lena and partly cuz I actually had more than one photo of her.  Now, we've discovered two more pics from the "Pictorial Atlas of Morrison County, Minnesota" ☺.  (And yes, this IS my idea of fun!)

Henry Block and Magdalena Sand Wedding
Added much later, after Minnesota Reflections started publishing the Pierz Journals online:
COOL, huh?
Funny, I recognize Lena and even Henry, but have no idea who Jeffrey Fischer was!
Ahh, as Larry pointed out in the comments, little Jeffrey Fischer was a great grandson.  Of course!
THANKS, L! ☺

There's a Fischer here, so maybe Henry and Lenas great grandson, eh?
