This branch of the Austrian Hesch family is descended from Johann Hesch and his wife Marya (Schlinz) Hesch, who came to America from Oberschlagles, Bohemia with three sons: Paul, Mathias, and Anton. +++Johann & Marya settled in Buffalo County, Wisconsin but moved to Pierz, Mn in about 1885. .+++Mathias settled in Waumandee, Wisconsin and moved to Pierz in 1911. +++Anton never married but farmed with his dad in Agram Township, where he died in 1911.+++And Paul, my great grandfather, settled five miles away, in Buckman, Minnesota. He died there in 1900.

Three more years of Pierz Journals

Hooray!  Larry casually mentioned last night that Minnesota Reflections just added three more years of the PJ to their digitized newspaper collection online! The link will take you there ☺.
I know you recall that 1909 to 1913 is already online, but now we have 1914, 1915 and 1916 to check.  These years include Math & Theo Hesch's trip to Europe in 1914 and mom's birth in 1915, plus a lot of our main characters were young then and still had at least one parent living.
If you search the word "Buckman", Math's columns show up, but mostly without his later jokes...lol
☺YAY, Larry!
