This branch of the Austrian Hesch family is descended from Johann Hesch and his wife Marya (Schlinz) Hesch, who came to America from Oberschlagles, Bohemia with three sons: Paul, Mathias, and Anton. +++Johann & Marya settled in Buffalo County, Wisconsin but moved to Pierz, Mn in about 1885. .+++Mathias settled in Waumandee, Wisconsin and moved to Pierz in 1911. +++Anton never married but farmed with his dad in Agram Township, where he died in 1911.+++And Paul, my great grandfather, settled five miles away, in Buckman, Minnesota. He died there in 1900.

The Buckman Directory, 1928

These are the Buckman pages in the 1928 Morrison County Directory.  If you're not familiar with business directories I'm not surprised, since they were really business-to-business  tools, used to ID new customers, and see if they were who they said they were.  This listing was only people who lived in town, BTW.
I'll post "Rural Morrison" soon....

...and no, I don't know why this next page gets so HUGE when you click to enlarge and the top and bottom ones don't.  Deal with it.
