This branch of the Austrian Hesch family is descended from Johann Hesch and his wife Marya (Schlinz) Hesch, who came to America from Oberschlagles, Bohemia with three sons: Paul, Mathias, and Anton. +++Johann & Marya settled in Buffalo County, Wisconsin but moved to Pierz, Mn in about 1885. .+++Mathias settled in Waumandee, Wisconsin and moved to Pierz in 1911. +++Anton never married but farmed with his dad in Agram Township, where he died in 1911.+++And Paul, my great grandfather, settled five miles away, in Buckman, Minnesota. He died there in 1900.

The Kasmer Ginter family

This photo from the Morrison Co Atlas (1970)  has had me stumped since I found it, partly because I suspected the name might have been transposed to Gunther (it wasn't ☺) and partly because "Kasmer" or "Cazemir" was such an unusual first name that it almost HAD to show up in a search.  Evidently, I didn't search far enough or early enough before....
But here they are, about 1898 (when the youngest kid, Franziska, looks to be around 5).  I'm assuming that the census was taken when the oldest kid was away working for another family and would be counted in their household. Of course, that kid was home for the portrait, tho. The atlas says Ginters lived in Rural Little Falls (Rt. 3) by 1970.
Does anyone know more about this family?
