This branch of the Austrian Hesch family is descended from Johann Hesch and his wife Marya (Schlinz) Hesch, who came to America from Oberschlagles, Bohemia with three sons: Paul, Mathias, and Anton. +++Johann & Marya settled in Buffalo County, Wisconsin but moved to Pierz, Mn in about 1885. .+++Mathias settled in Waumandee, Wisconsin and moved to Pierz in 1911. +++Anton never married but farmed with his dad in Agram Township, where he died in 1911.+++And Paul, my great grandfather, settled five miles away, in Buckman, Minnesota. He died there in 1900.

The LIbrary of Congress comes thru AGAIN!

Hooray!  Larry's been watching the LoC website, and realized they were about to post the historic newspapers from Little Falls, Morrison County, Mn.  He was actually able to keep it a SECRET until they were online and searchable.  What an amazing ability, one so far beyond me....
ANYWAY, this is about as fun as online genealogy gets:  to have home access  not only to the Pierz Journal, but to
is blow-me-away COOL!  They all included news about Buckman and Pierz tho the actual village news columns were after 1900, seems like.  The links above are to the earliest online issues of each paper.  Check em out--and remember this is your tax money at work, making at LEAST two people very thrilled and happy.
 ☺ x 3
THANK YOU LIBRARY OF CONGRESS,
AND LARRY!
