This branch of the Austrian Hesch family is descended from Johann Hesch and his wife Marya (Schlinz) Hesch, who came to America from Oberschlagles, Bohemia with three sons: Paul, Mathias, and Anton. +++Johann & Marya settled in Buffalo County, Wisconsin but moved to Pierz, Mn in about 1885. .+++Mathias settled in Waumandee, Wisconsin and moved to Pierz in 1911. +++Anton never married but farmed with his dad in Agram Township, where he died in 1911.+++And Paul, my great grandfather, settled five miles away, in Buckman, Minnesota. He died there in 1900.

Rose A. Hesch Gottwalt--1876 to 1951

Rose was grandpa's oldest sister, Paul and Mary's first born child. She's the one who looked most like her mother I think.
She married Louis E. Gottwalt in 1895, and by 1900, they had 4 children.
In the 1910 census, there were 9 children...

I've been wrong for YEARS, thinking that Rose was at the "Golden Wedding" of Anton and Elizabeth Hesch, in 1960. Rose died in 1951, so the woman sitting between Math and Sr Laura that day had to be Lucy Hesch Klein. Nope, wrong again...lol The "Aunt Rose" sitting between them was Theo's wife, Rose Dehler Hesch..Thanks to Dad's cousin Laura for the clarification!
Still, I have no stories about Rose (and Louie)...do any of YOU?
