This branch of the Austrian Hesch family is descended from Johann Hesch and his wife Marya (Schlinz) Hesch, who came to America from Oberschlagles, Bohemia with three sons: Paul, Mathias, and Anton. +++Johann & Marya settled in Buffalo County, Wisconsin but moved to Pierz, Mn in about 1885. .+++Mathias settled in Waumandee, Wisconsin and moved to Pierz in 1911. +++Anton never married but farmed with his dad in Agram Township, where he died in 1911.+++And Paul, my great grandfather, settled five miles away, in Buckman, Minnesota. He died there in 1900.

The BEST day EVER!!

OMG, we had so much FUN yesterday! Even with 4" of rain that fell first thing in the morning (!), by 10 AM, it pretty much stopped and only the humidity survived...lol (Is 125% possible?)

We met wonderful Hesch relatives--in particular, descendants of grandpa Anton's brother John Hesch--his sons Paul and JohnnyBoy and daughter Girlie (Mary) Block. The people pictured here are Stephan Pozel (husband of Johnny Boys daughter Julie), Janet (Schmidt) Hesch, Bill Block, Greg Hesch (lucky husband of Janet), Gene Block, and John Hesch (named after his father, grandfather, and his great grandpa!)
Bill and Gene are sons of Girlie (Mary) Block, while Greg and John are Johnny Boy's sons.

Food and talk--one's a catalyst for the other at a Hesch doings....but obviously, not the ONLY catalyst....lol
Sue spent time at the reunion scanning old photos people brought, and we have about 24 NEW old pics (the memory stick worked GREAT!) She found time to visit, too tho...lol Here, she's talking with Rosemary Ganz and her daughter, Cyndi Dropps. Rosemary is a daughter of Paul Hesch (son of John Hesch and Ket Mueller) and Anna Valentine. What a JOY to meet these people!

::::::::::::::::

Ok, it's almost 4 o'clock on Sunday, now. The sibs were here this morning. We did a reunion replay...lol..sharing who we talked to yesterday, and all the fun memories they brought to mind. We did quite a bit of goofing off and laughing too...a nap might be in order.

To all those who attended...THANK YOU for coming. I feel so very blessed to have all of you as family!
