This branch of the Austrian Hesch family is descended from Johann Hesch and his wife Marya (Schlinz) Hesch, who came to America from Oberschlagles, Bohemia with three sons: Paul, Mathias, and Anton. +++Johann & Marya settled in Buffalo County, Wisconsin but moved to Pierz, Mn in about 1885. .+++Mathias settled in Waumandee, Wisconsin and moved to Pierz in 1911. +++Anton never married but farmed with his dad in Agram Township, where he died in 1911.+++And Paul, my great grandfather, settled five miles away, in Buckman, Minnesota. He died there in 1900.

Awwww! This is sweet...

Anticipatory chat with my sister, Marion, this morning got us this cute story:

Marion was going to nursing school in Montana, so it would have been 1978. She stayed with cousin Tommy and his family that summer, and Tommy's son Nick was 2 or 3 years old.
(Tom is the son of Ted Hesch--twin of Matt--and Millie Rau, married August 7th, 1944).

Mom and dad, (Mike and Linda) went for a visit, and saw Nick sucking the thumb of one hand and twirling a curl of his hair with the other.

When dad saw it, he said, "Son of a *****! That's exactly what Tader used to do!"

(LOL...I can still hear him say stuff like that, can't you?)

But just think, how ELSE would Tommy have known?

TWO DAYS--Whooohooo!
