This branch of the Austrian Hesch family is descended from Johann Hesch and his wife Marya (Schlinz) Hesch, who came to America from Oberschlagles, Bohemia with three sons: Paul, Mathias, and Anton. +++Johann & Marya settled in Buffalo County, Wisconsin but moved to Pierz, Mn in about 1885. .+++Mathias settled in Waumandee, Wisconsin and moved to Pierz in 1911. +++Anton never married but farmed with his dad in Agram Township, where he died in 1911.+++And Paul, my great grandfather, settled five miles away, in Buckman, Minnesota. He died there in 1900.

Bohemian Heschs and Canadian Heschs

(and...are we related?)

If you've searched at all for the name HESCH online, you've been thrilled to find a whole lotta genealogy for the family of  Veit Hesch and George Hesch and Valentine Hesch...but they emmigrated to Mildmay, Bruce county, Ontario, Canada from Germany proper.
Our Heschs came from Bohemia, but they were German.
The connection is possible, yes, but would have been a long, long time ago.

Still, GREETINGS to any Canadian Heschs who happen by here--oh, and have you seen the passport apps for John, William and Charles Hesch from New Mexico in 1920?
