This branch of the Austrian Hesch family is descended from Johann Hesch and his wife Marya (Schlinz) Hesch, who came to America from Oberschlagles, Bohemia with three sons: Paul, Mathias, and Anton. +++Johann & Marya settled in Buffalo County, Wisconsin but moved to Pierz, Mn in about 1885. .+++Mathias settled in Waumandee, Wisconsin and moved to Pierz in 1911. +++Anton never married but farmed with his dad in Agram Township, where he died in 1911.+++And Paul, my great grandfather, settled five miles away, in Buckman, Minnesota. He died there in 1900.

A startling connection

If there could be a reunion of all the people in the world who are somehow related to OTREMBAs, its possible both Larry and I would be there!
Remember the woodcarver Frank Otremba who lived in Hawaii about 1900?  Well, Larry was born in Hawaii.  His dad, from Maryland,  was there thru the military.  His mom is Portugese, and her mother's name was PEREIRA.
There's a link on My Heritage --with no state or country mentioned--but Larry says the woman there looks uncannily like a younger version of his own aunt.  Isn't that startling?  And, wouldn't you say the man looks sorta "family", too?
WOW.  We couldn't have hand-picked a better connection...Welcome to the family, Larry!!
