Part of an email from Anon, with some sad news:
"The Buckman Parish Hall is currently being demolished, with the insides gutted and the outside going shortly. Dirty shame to destroy such a wonderful landmark....If Europe did that, there would be no reason to travel overseas. Historic preservation does come at a cost but we lose so much by disregarding what we had. Anyway, if you want a last look at the Hall, you need to visit soon".
Sigh. So many memories were made in the Hall--Christmas programs, wedding and funeral dinners, parish ladies bustling in the kitchen, trays of sandwiches, bars and bowls of salad, pitchers full of nectar, the smell of perking coffee, popping corn, cigs---the laughter and noise, and heat that built up--and always, always, family.
Thanks for letting us know, Anon.
