This branch of the Austrian Hesch family is descended from Johann Hesch and his wife Marya (Schlinz) Hesch, who came to America from Oberschlagles, Bohemia with three sons: Paul, Mathias, and Anton. +++Johann & Marya settled in Buffalo County, Wisconsin but moved to Pierz, Mn in about 1885. .+++Mathias settled in Waumandee, Wisconsin and moved to Pierz in 1911. +++Anton never married but farmed with his dad in Agram Township, where he died in 1911.+++And Paul, my great grandfather, settled five miles away, in Buckman, Minnesota. He died there in 1900.

Excelsior Motorcycles

One of the delightful things we have here in 2010 is the ability to search by words in obscure books and magazines via Google books and Internet Archives, among others.  There are a ton of cool old magazines from 1850 on, with all kinds of features and ads that tickle me.  You, lucky reader, are the recipient of that ☺
Dad's Uncle Math was an Excelsior Motorcycle dealer in the 1920s, and since we have pictures to corroborate the fact, we've already done posts / about it, but here are a few ads I've found since then.  Once I've posted them, I can delete them from my overloaded Picture file...lol

(From various issues of Popular Mechanics and an automotive supply catalog.  COOL, huh?)
