This branch of the Austrian Hesch family is descended from Johann Hesch and his wife Marya (Schlinz) Hesch, who came to America from Oberschlagles, Bohemia with three sons: Paul, Mathias, and Anton. +++Johann & Marya settled in Buffalo County, Wisconsin but moved to Pierz, Mn in about 1885. .+++Mathias settled in Waumandee, Wisconsin and moved to Pierz in 1911. +++Anton never married but farmed with his dad in Agram Township, where he died in 1911.+++And Paul, my great grandfather, settled five miles away, in Buckman, Minnesota. He died there in 1900.

A Question for the sibs

Here's a photo that's puzzled me for ages.  For awhile, I thought the man on the left was Art Eban, but it's not, and just lately, we found out that at this time, dad (right) and his cousin Paul (John and Ket's son) were good friends, helping each other with projects, etc.  Did Paul help build the covered sandbox, or the swing frame?

Anyway, this isn't Paul, cuz Marion looks little--this was probably the summer of 1952--and Paul's kids were  born in the 30's mostly, so way past the ages of these boys.
Was this dad's army buddy?  I never went on a trip where we stopped to see him, but you guys did.  Recognize him?

  1. No, that isn't how the army buddies looked. This guy is somehow related to Buckman, but I don't know how. Is he a Kelzenberg? Ask Uncle Tony........no idea, actually.

  2. I would say that the two men are related because their facial feature are alike. Their face shape is oval and the eyes and the noses are alike. My guess they are brothers.
