This branch of the Austrian Hesch family is descended from Johann Hesch and his wife Marya (Schlinz) Hesch, who came to America from Oberschlagles, Bohemia with three sons: Paul, Mathias, and Anton. +++Johann & Marya settled in Buffalo County, Wisconsin but moved to Pierz, Mn in about 1885. .+++Mathias settled in Waumandee, Wisconsin and moved to Pierz in 1911. +++Anton never married but farmed with his dad in Agram Township, where he died in 1911.+++And Paul, my great grandfather, settled five miles away, in Buckman, Minnesota. He died there in 1900.

Ch-ch-ch-changes

I suppose it's cuz this winter has been so unusually warm.  A lot of days seem like spring, and spring brings thoughts of messing with the status quo, re-arranging furniture and changing the blog.  I expect that's true of you too. Here's what I did to HH ☺:

I deleted the list of labels on the left.  It was is way WAY too long (you noticed?)  Besides, it's much more efficient to use the search box above left.  The labels remain on individual posts, so if you really want to find out what else we've posted about whatever you're reading, just click the highlighted word at the end of the post, Verstehst du?
Oh yeah, I switched the order of the stuff in the left column too, but it's mostly still there.  (BTW, if you can donate some money to help digitize the Pierz Journals, please click that icon, below our authors' bio. Thanks).

(I couldn't think of any other use for these ants...)
