This branch of the Austrian Hesch family is descended from Johann Hesch and his wife Marya (Schlinz) Hesch, who came to America from Oberschlagles, Bohemia with three sons: Paul, Mathias, and Anton. +++Johann & Marya settled in Buffalo County, Wisconsin but moved to Pierz, Mn in about 1885. .+++Mathias settled in Waumandee, Wisconsin and moved to Pierz in 1911. +++Anton never married but farmed with his dad in Agram Township, where he died in 1911.+++And Paul, my great grandfather, settled five miles away, in Buckman, Minnesota. He died there in 1900.

103 year old news flashes!

Larry and I are finding something interesting in EVERY issue of the Pierz Journals (digitized on Minnesota Reflections).  YAY, Minnesota Digital Library, for realizing how  local that paper was and how precious it is now.

'Course, they have no idea how in-everybody's-business Math Hesch was, but we're finding out that it was even-more-than-we-thought.
Problem is, I have an all day client today so I can't do much posting.  But, here's a teaser...it's interesting to read just for the little "Oh, wow!"s, huh?
