This branch of the Austrian Hesch family is descended from Johann Hesch and his wife Marya (Schlinz) Hesch, who came to America from Oberschlagles, Bohemia with three sons: Paul, Mathias, and Anton. +++Johann & Marya settled in Buffalo County, Wisconsin but moved to Pierz, Mn in about 1885. .+++Mathias settled in Waumandee, Wisconsin and moved to Pierz in 1911. +++Anton never married but farmed with his dad in Agram Township, where he died in 1911.+++And Paul, my great grandfather, settled five miles away, in Buckman, Minnesota. He died there in 1900.

Guys who fish

The Brenny--Hoheisel--Bednar--Przybilla--Vankeuren Fishing Party
There was no month or year specified on this photo in the Morrison Co Atlas.   I'd guess it was the 1970s and that some amount of bottled antifreeze was involved in the trip.  Some Northerns, huh?
The one man I recognize evidently didn't catch anything--that'd be 'Brenny', on the left--and I only know him from dozens of funerals he hosted over the years.  According to the Emblom Brenny website, he retired in 2011, that is, IF I have the right Brenny.  (You might bookmark that website if you're interested in home town obits).
P.S.--leave a comment if you know any of these fishermen, ok?
