he'd like to be an American.
This is the citizenship intent declaration of our great great grandfather John Hesch, renouncing loyalty to the Emperor of Austria. It was November 6th, 1871, Buffalo Co, Wisconsin. His signature was so old world,
such beautiful Suetterlin script, doncha think?
THANKS for this, Larry!

I am trying to track down some relatives that are distantly related. I feel that this web site could be very valuable to find some more about them, but I am having a great difficulty trying to find them. The family names are Hesch, Otremba, Block, and they are all from Pierz, MN. There should be a point where the Marshik’s and Hesch’s connect. The info below is from a member of my family, but she didn't give me DOB, etc. Is there some portion of the "http://heschistory.blogspot.com/" that shows a family tree that could give me some clues as to how these people are connected to people mentioned on this website?

Yup, those are definitely family names. Way at the top of this blog page, on the left above the title, is a rectangular "search this blog" gizmo. Type "Block" or "Otremba" etc. there and it'll bring up anywhere they're mentioned on the blog. Hints: 1) This Mary Hesch was better known as "Girlie". You'll find a fam picture on the blog. 2) The Otrembas all had huge families and used the same saints names, so there are a LOT of Johns and Marys in every generation. You probably don't have the right John. 3) I'd suggest findagrave.com for a succinct who's who. BTW, these people are VERY related to you, not distant at all. Good luck!
