Larry found this charming article that was shared with the Little Falls paper on March 3, 1922. (An exchange, btw, was the practice of newspapers sharing their copy with other newspapers) about a barn dance in Hutchinson, Mn, where Satan himself stopped by to frighten dancers. It was 1922, 3 years into Prohibition, so you know there was not one drop of liquor imbibed by the God-fearing participants, right?
So, of course, I went to find the original story on the Library of Congress website
(Chronicling America) to see more ☺. Must have been a slow news month because the story grew legs, and by April 19th, someone asked an actual Methodist Minister about it. Way to kill a good story, Rev!
THANKS, LARRY ☺
